The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch!

Our final technology challenge of the year related to the story 'The Lighthouse Keepers lunch',
All of the pupils have been very busy at home making and drawing lighthouses, and together listened to the story and discussed the task of how to get Mr Grinling's lunch from the little cottage on the cliffes to the lighthouse.
The pupils then used their creativity to retell the story and to create solutions to the problem.
Lots of fun, creativity and skill. Well done everyone!

Drumming, Juggling...and Giant Bubbles!

As an end of term treat, Mrs Reain very kindly organised a visit from Marcella from the Community Tribal Drummers.
We were treated to a morning of circus skills including juggling and plate spinning, an amazing drumming session and some outdoor hula hooping and GIANT BUBBLES.
The Year Two pupils were on their very best behaviour and loved every minute of a very memorable morning.
You can check out some of the highlights in our video here

Talking and Listening - Seashore Edition!

For our final Topic, the Year Two pupils have been learning about the Seashore.
Each pupil was tasked with the challenge of finding out some interesting facts about a sea creature.
I am delighted to report that all pupils were able not only to find out, but also to report their findings to the class.
We all learned a lot of new facts! Well done!

Ready, Set, Go! Sports day!

The Year Two pupils have been working hard on their P.E skills this term and training hard to build speed and running posture.  On 9th June the pupils were able to put their skills to the test in our Year Two class sports day!
The pupils all participated fully, showing best effort and celebrating both their own successes and those of their friends: the exact dispositions we love!  Look at these big sporty smiles! Nice work, everyone.

Number Day!

On Friday 28th of May, everyone in school celebrated 'NUMBER DAY'.
This is an important event in our school calendar, allowing the pupils to enjoy a whole day devoted to numeracy games and investigations, and for an added element of fun, to wear clothing with a number on or a 'onesie'!

As we completed a series of number challenges both indoors and outdoors, the Year Two pupils joined in with trademark enthusiasm and showed super Numeracy skills.
Well done everyone: and thank you to Mrs Milligan for organising such a fun day!

Time for an update!

Time for an update on what we have been up to so far in Term 3!
This is always an exciting term as we can begin to consolidate the pupils' hard work, skills and knowledge - and begin to prepare for Year Three!

In this update you will see some of our Play and P.E activities, our new favourite - Picnic lunches (thank you Diane and Victoria!), a very grown up 'traffic survey', and outdoor assembly, and the day a special visitor came to our classroom.
WOW!

Phonics
In phonics we continue to review and revise all initial/single sounds -remember to say the 'short sound'
We have been working on our dictation skills and reading using longer and more challenging sentences.
We have been playing games and using the sounds ng, nk, ck, qy, oo, ee/ea, ar, er, ir, or, ow/oa and igh
And we have been learning sounds ow/ou, ai/ay, au/aw, oi/oy and ew/ue

Here are some videos if you would like to review these at home.
ow - brown cow -   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJtvjxBYg7I
ou - shout it out -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qtCB7CYH3I
ai - snail in the drain- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fbmpw192MSg
ay - may I play -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTCP8i4Nwgc
au - www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOHDkQGhku4
aw - yawn at dawn - www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xvdbR6g060

ew - chew the stew - www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZojmFjUAGh4
ue - www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCeE3B_tAq8

Numeracy
In Numeracy we have been extending our number knowledge, counting forwards, backwards and in patterns.
We have been using some bigger numbers for addition and subtraction and have been working to build 'quick recall' of number facts.  We have completed some more challenging Time, Money and Shape activities in Practical Numeracy and the pupils have thoroughly enjoyed participating in data handling and surveys.

Topic Work
We have been working on our Topic 'Five Senses' and the pupils have shown excellent investigative and observation skills during our Science activities.

A special visitor for the Year Two class!

On Monday we had a special treat as a visitor came to our class - a bird!
This brightly coloured avian friend belongs to a very clever, kind and gentle pupil and it was wonderful for us to see her confidence and expertise in handling our new pal! It was very funny when the bird found a new perch too!
As Diane, Victoria and I always say - "never a dull day in Year Two"

Top P.E Skills in our challenging obstacle course!

Since returning to school we have been using our fantastic outdoor area for most of our P.E sessions - but one of the most fun and memorable P.E activities in Year Twi has always been designing and completing our indoor obstacle course.
The pupils showed their best skills in tackling the new challenges, showing their speed, balance and strength in a safe and supportive environment. Well done gang - we are proud of you!

Alfresco  dining Year Two style!

We have been making the most of the beautiful weather to spend lots of time outside- one of our favourite things at the moment is to take our snacks and lunchboxes out for a class picnic together. Lots of chat and fresh air - a great combination!

Let's play!

One of the best aspects of being back in school following the closure has been getting back to Play Time!
Play Time is when the pupils learn many important foundational Thinking Skills - Working with others, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Being Creative.  We carefully plan the pupil's play experiences so they have opportunities to take on new challenges, interact and grow - and of course, have lots of fun!

Our traffic survey!

We have been putting our data handling and recording skills to good use by carrying our surveys.
We were able to use 'tally marks' to record the traffic passing by our school from safely inside the fence.
A very interesting activity, with many of the children talking about how you could hear the traffic before it came into view - an excellent lesson in road safety. Well done!

Outdoor Assembly

Our first assembly since March 2020!
We were able to remain in our class bubbles for an outdoors assembly with Rev Cowan this week,
The pupils all listened carefully and enjoyed the story together - but a little apart!

Easter  already! Time  flies when you are having fun!

It has been a very fun, very busy few weeks since the Year Two pupils returned to school!
Everyone has done  a great job of settling in, catching up with friends, working hard and playing well.

Phonics
In phonics we have revised all of the initial/single sounds (being sure to say the 'short sound')
We have been working on our dictation skills and reading and writing CVC words.
We have reviewed phonics sounds - ng, nk, ck, qy, oo, ee/ea, ar, er, and ir, and more recently have learned new sounds: or, ow/oa and igh

Here are the Geraldine Giraffe videos in case anyone would like to review these at home.
or (shut the door) - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm9PRHDJlv4
ow (blow the snow) -  www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPtNBSfCkJA
oa (goat in a boat) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCJyHN0IFE8
igh (fly high) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYCR2RZ4ZYY

Remember you can use Phonics Forest to play games using these sounds, or if you log on to Purple Mash, click the teachers 'Big Book',swipe right to find 'Phonics Phase 3 cloze' you will find some activities there too.

Numeracy
In Numeracy we have been counting using higher numbers, in 2s, 5s, and 10s.
We have been using some bigger numbers for addition and subtraction and have been working to build 'quick recall' of number facts.  We have revised the names of 2D and 3D shapes and have completed lots of work on length and weight.

Topic Work
We have started our new Topic, 'It all Makes Sense' which is about the Five Senses.
This topic will have lots of investigation work which the children will really enjoy.
If you have time over Easter, you could get out and about for a 'Senses' walk - what could you see, hear, smell, touch or Taste (hopefully some yummy Easter eggs!)

Picture
We finished the term on a high with our Easter Egg-Stavaganza. The pupils made special Easter Egg hunting cards and then listened carefully to the instructions to make sure everyone could play fairly and safely!
The pupils were able to find over 150 Easter treats in under ten minutes!
You can catch some of the excitement in our video here
I hope everyone will get a good break over the Easter Holidays.
Thank you for all of your support in getting our wonderful pupils back to school, happy and learning together once again!
See you soon!

Suggested activities: Thursday   4th March

 Good Morning Year Two!

Today it is National Grammar day!
You may not realise this, but you are already very good at using Grammar - you use it every day when you are talking, reading and writing!
'Grammar' is a set of rules that tells us how to use words in sentences, and it teaches us to use capital letters, full stops,  question marks, and exclamation marks.

My favourite way to think about Grammar is using 'Kung Fu punctuation' - I have recorded a video to show you what this is - you can find it here!

If you have time, pick up a favourite book and see if you can do the 'Kung Fu Punctuation' for the sentences inside.

I've been looking at your Dr Seuss art and craft and wanted to share some with you and your friends. Your drawing skills get better every week, I am so pleased to see you working so hard and looking so happy!

Today you will be working on your grammar skills, Numeracy Topic Work, being sure to 'Get up and Go' and if you have time, having a go at a  'People Who Help Us' quiz.

Try your best and keep smiling!

Good Morning Year Two!

Today it is Dr Seuss Day! Have you heard of Dr Seuss before?
He was a very famous children's writer, who wrote the books that 'The Cat in the Hat' and 'The Lorax' movies are based on.
He wrote 43 other books too, his stories are funny and have brilliant drawings.
I read today that Dr Seuss often came up with his ideas by DOODLING!
(Just like us, so keep practicing!)
I have recorded a Dr Seuss story for you to listen to today,
you can find it here.

If you would like to read some other Dr Seuss Stories, you can find readalong stories here.

Today you will be working on some colourful handwriting, Mental Maths, and addition, and then if you have time, you will be able to celebrate Dr Seuss day with a doodle or a craft.

While you are busy with that, I am putting together a gallery of your engineering week work, so check back tomorrow to see it!

Suggested activities: Friday  26th January

Good Morning Year Two!

Hooray! It is Friday today: what a super week of work, play and ENGINEERING!

This morning I have recorded a story for you to listen to.
It is called 'Fee Fi Fo Fum'- you might recognise some of the characters in the story.  You can find the video here.

I would like you to try to read a fairy story or traditional tale at home today.
Maybe you have your own book of fairy stories?
If not, y
ou could read one of these stories online.
Jack and the Beanstalk
Little Red Riding Hood
The Three Little Pigs

Find a comfortable spot and settle down to enjoy some reading time
(Bethany, maybe you could read in your Teepee!)

Today you are going to be working on your Numeracy Skills, leaving me a message on Purple Mash, and then, as it is Friday you can choose what you would like to do for Golden Time.

Tomorrow it is Pokemon day. There is a little Pokemon treat in your home pack to help you celebrate. Did you know that Pokemon has been around since 1996 so it is celebrating its 25th Birthday this year!
Even more importantly though: we have a class birthday tomorrow!
Happy birthday to this funny, clever, helpful boy!
Have a brilliant birthday and the best weekend.

Keep smiling!

Suggested activities: Thursday 25th February

Good Morning Year Two!

I hope you are all well and have been enjoying our engineering week so far!
Your design and construction work is super - you have thought very carefully!
Yesterday I was able to go into school to collect the work that you have been doing over the last few weeks! Wow! So many sums, such neat handwriting! You should feel very proud of what you have learned.

I was very touched by the little letters and sweet treats tucked inside the folders: and Hmph is delighted with his drawings and Valentines cards.
You are very kind.

Today you will be working on your Literacy Skills, completing some activities to do with 3D shape, getting your bodies moving, then if you have time, trying the next Engineering challenge: you can find it a video explaining it here!

Keep smiling!
Miss Briggs

Good Morning Parents/Guardians!

Please find suggested activities for Thursday 25th February below.
Please try to complete:
Spellings and Sounds
Literacy (Literacy Skills)
Numeracy (Mental Maths and Topic work)
Reading
"Get up and Go" - PE Skills
If you have time:
Engineering activity
Literacy
Today the pupils are developing their Literacy Skills

Please ask your child to say the alphabet (rather than sing it even though singing it is very fun!) If they have a secure grasp of the alphabet, try asking them to say it starting from different letters eg - ‘Say the alphabet starting from m’.
Lots of encouragement on this, its tricky!

THEN:
If the pack contains this booklet, please ask your child to write their name on the front then read the information about sentences on page 26 before completing pages 27 and 28.

If the pack contains this alphabet activity,
please ask your child to write their name on the front  then complete the matching task by circling the correct letters.

Please keep this work safe to return to school

Lexia Users - Please remember to complete Lexia online.

Mental Maths
Over the past few weeks, you will likely have become familiar with where your child's strengths and areas for improvement lie in Mental Maths.
Take some time today to use 'Hit the Button', selecting the area that they would benefit most from
(Number bonds- addition/subtraction or doubles, edit difficulty as required).
Topic Work

Today I would like the pupils to think about 3D Shape.
There is a helpful video here

If you have time, try to find some real life examples of a cone, cylinder, cube and cuboid at home.

Then complete 2-3 pages in the 3D shape booklet in the home pack.
Picture
Get up and Go

If it is a fine day, try to get outdoors.
We would be working on our skipping, hopping and hopscotch skills in school - have a go at home!

If the weather is poor, have a go at getting fit while counting to 100!
Picture
If you have time
World Around Us- Engineering Challenge!

Either-
Select a new activity from the challenge cards
OR

Have a go at creating a paper chain from a single sheet of paper.
Video explanation is here.
This is a real challenge- but I think the pupils are up to it!
The learning points I would emphasise in school are  how important it is to plan and discuss how to approach the challenge at the start- would thick or thin strips work best? Landscape or portrait? Encourage a second go to see if you can improve the original design and create an even longer paper chain.
As little hands get tired, a grown up or brother or sister can certainly help with the cutting - working together is part of the fun!
As always, I would love to know how you get on!

Numeracy
Today we are focusing on Subtraction/Taking away

Mental Maths
If you have time please have a go this active Mental Maths game.
Get your child to spread out either number cards 1-10 or 1-20 on the floor of the room - space them out as much as possible. An adults calls out a 'Taking away sum' for the child to calculate using mental maths, the the child runs to the correct number and collects it. Game ends when all numbers are collected!
Examples of questions:
Easier: taking away 1 within 10 - "what is 10 take away 1" "what is 6 take away 1"
Trickier: taking away 0, 1 or 2 within 20 - "what is 18 take away 2?" "what is 16 take away 0"
Even trickier; taking away any number within 20 - "what is 20 takeaway 8" "what is 13 takeaway 10" - can use a number line for these!

Written activity
You will find a subtraction/taking away booklet in your home pack.
Please complete the next 2/3 pages in the book.

ICT activity
If you would like an ICT activity to reinforce subtraction
have a go at 'Monty's maths wall’ – click 'play game', then you can select the level of difficulty.

Use the arrow keys, left right and down to match the sum to the correct answer and break down the wall (a little like tetris or bubble burst!)
Picture
Get up and go!
Wednesday is one of our P.E days in school!
If the weather is nice, please try to get outside to work on some kicking skills - kick with one foot, then the other. Try kicking at a target or into a net - how many goals can your child score in a minute?

Try 'dribbling' the ball.

If the weather isn't so good, you can have a go at dancing along with the 'Double Scoop' dance.

If you have time: Engineering activity choices for Engineering week!

In the home pack there is a collection of
'Building Challenge' cards.
Find these two cards and talk about the challenges on them together
Choose one or two challenges to complete - let me know how our future engineers get on!

WAU - Engineering challenge!
As it is Engineering week, I would love it if the pupils could have a go at some of the challenges we would have been doing in school.  Engineering is a great way to encourage the pupils to be creative and curious as well as developing planning, practical and evaluation skills!

You will need tinfoil, pennies, and a basin or sink full of water.
Talk about the challenge then see if your child can make a boat using only the tinfoil. See how many pennies the boat will carry before sinking. Then talk about how the boat could be redesigned to see if it can hold more pennies - think about size and shape! You can test a few different designs to see what works best. I'd love to know how everyone gets on!

Suggested activities - Thursday 11th February

Good Morning Year Two!
Today it is Thursday 11th February.
February is Bird Watching month, so hopefully today you will have a chance to watch some birds!
It is important to look after the birds at this time of year as there is not as much food for them to eat as usual and some of their drinking water will be frozen.  You can be a friend to the birds by setting out the bird food ball from your home pack, or some other bird seed or nuts.   A little dish of water for them to have a bath in or take a drink from would be great too!

I have loved looking at your bright and colourful umbrella craft: you are all so creative (that goes for the Mums and Dads too!)
I am missing you all but am proud of all of your hard work and super play.

Today you are going to be working on your Literacy skills, completing some Mental Maths and Money work, then dancing like a robot! If you have time, you can look out for, feed, or count some birds.
Your video for today is here!

Keep smiling!

Today we are focusing on Subtraction/Taking away

Mental Maths
If you have time please have a go at the taking away game described in the video ‘Down to zero’.
Start with two towers of 20 blocks or LEGO bricks.  Each person takes a turn to roll the dice, read the number rolled and take away that number of blocks or bricks. First to zero wins!
You can make this trickier by using more blocks and rolling two dice, or easier by using less blocks and flipping a coin – heads remove one block, tails remove two.

Written activity
You will find a subtraction/taking away booklet in your home pack.
Please complete the next 2 pages in the book.

ICT activity
If you would like an ICT activity to reinforce number bonds,
have a go at 'Smoothie Maths’ – I recommend a few goes to try and improve speed and accuracy

Good Morning Year Two!

I hope everyone had a really lovely weekend and you are all ready to do your very best work once again this week!

I have recorded a Monday message and story video for you!
You can find it here.

Today you are going to be thinking about Phonics, working on your number work, getting your body moving, and if you have time, learning about Toys in the past in World Around Us!

I am going to leave you the 'Playdough Print challenge' to figure out.

Some of you were able to guess what made the prints on Friday!
The answers are -key, comb, shell, duplo brick.  Golf ball, whisk, curly shell, long bolt from the tool kit!.
Can you tell what made these prints?
Thank you Vanessa, Ruby and Oliver for sending these in!
I will tell you the answers tomorrow!

Keep smiling everyone!
Miss Briggs

Good Morning parents/guardians.
Lets get started on a new week- lots to look forward to for our lovely little people!
Thank you for all of the fantastic pictures, short videos and work returned: everyone is doing a great job.
As always - please just do what you can: keep focusing on Literacy, Numeracy, spellings/sounds, try to read and find time to move each day: the other activities can be done at a time that suits you or saved for when everyone is under less pressure.

Literacy
Phonics

On Mondays the pupils learn a new sound to use in their reading and writing.
I have recorded a video with the 'ee' sound and a story, if you wish you can find it here

This week we are thinking about the sound 'ee' (this sometimes appears in words as 'ea' 'e' or 'y' but we are focusing on the 'ee' variation.
The little saying we use to remember this one is 'What can you see'

Here is a short video with 'Geraldine the Giraffe'.
Can you think of any other 'ee' words?

Phonics activities: please keep this work safe to return to school.
Spelling group 1 - Please find 'ee' work in your home pack.
Please complete 20-25 minutes work.
In school the pupils would usually have an opportunity to access 'Phonics Forest' - if you have some time at home, it is really excellent. You can find this week's sound - ee - and if you wish, there are sections available for ng, nk, ch, sh, th, and oo which would be useful for consolidating the sounds the pupils have worked so hard on.

Spelling group 2 - Please find new phonics booklet (word link -middle vowel sounds) in home pack.
Complete 20-25 minutes work.
In school the pupils would usually have an opportunity to access the Phonics section in Purple Mash to consolidate their learning.
Log in, click on the teachers 'Big Book', scroll right to Phonics - Phase 2- Cloze and have a go at some of the activities.

Sounds group - please log in to Lexia and complete a 20 minute session, the one of the written activities provided by Mrs Burns. If you have completed the written activities please email the office and I can request a new set of activities for the next pack

Numeracy
Number work

Mental Maths: Please focus on counting backwards - you can choose to count 10-0, 15 - 0, 20 -0 or larger numbers if this proves easy.  If counting larger numbers, please be aware that counting across the 10 is tricky (eg 51-50-49, 31-30-29)so might be helpful to use a number square.

Written task
Please complete the next two pages in the 'Number' booklet.

ICT activity
If you would like an ICT task to support today's work, I recommend revisiting Whack a mole - this time reset the switch at the top right to count backwards then choose starting number to count back from.

Good Morning Year Two!

It is Friday once more, our favourite day of the week!
This morning I have been drinking some tea and looking at the work that you sent into school! There is lots of neat writing, beautiful colouring and extremely clever Numeracy work! I found a few lovely little surprises and notes tucked in too - thank you so much :)

Today I have a story for you to listen to, then you will be learning how to write a letter. In Numeracy you will be thinking about height and if you would like, having another go at favourite Numeracy games from this week.

Click here for today's story, Mr Blueberry.

(Emily, I think you in particular may love this one!)

Literacy

Today I would like the pupils to have a go at writing a letter- this could perhaps be to a friend or family member.
You will find a template in the home learning pack and there is an example of what your child may like to write to the right-this activity is new so please support as required!
Remind your child that an important feature of a letter is the address at the top so that the person they are writing to can write back. They need to write who the letter is TO and who it is FROM.

When we do this in school we usually go to the post office to post the letters - this definitely makes the experience more fun and real so if you manage to get an opportunity to post the letter please do so!

Numeracy - Topic Work
Height

If you would like to complete some practical activities today, please think about height- some suggestions below - you can use your cubes, string or other objects to measure the height of toys and to order and talk about height. Friday is a great opportunity for 'mopping up' any incomplete or missed activities or to revisit ICT tasks from earlier in the week :)
Finally - GOLDEN TIME!

As a treat for all of your hard work
Either
Make a door hanger for your bedroom (template in pack)
How to video here - a grown up can help with cutting out if required.
I'd love to see the finished articles!

OR
Join in a playdough print challenge!

Comprehension/Reading skills

Today the pupils are developing their comprehension and reading skills.
You will find one of the following three activities in your pack.
Please keep this work safe
Picture
Please find page 6 in the textbook.
Read the story 'Hansel and Gretel' together, then try the 'Get Started' section, with your child writing the sentences with missing words in your new red book. Remind them that they can find the answers in the passage.
If your child found this accessible, you are welcome to have a go at the 'Try These' and 'Now Try These' sections (In school I would normally ask the pupils to select one activity from the 'Now try these section' as the little hands can get tired at that stage!

If the pack contains this booklet, please ensure your child's name is on it and then complete pages 23 and 24.

Page 23 - Draw what you put in your school bag then write a list of the items

Good morning gang!
Another snowy day yesterday - what a treat!
There are so many different ways to enjoy the snowy weather: check these out!
While there has been lots of fun in the snow, there has also been lots of excellent work happening. I feel very proud of all of your effort!

In exciting Year Two news - congratulations to these pupils!
It looks like the tooth fairy is going to be busy. Loosing teeth is a big part of growing up, and you are both growing up to be really lovely little people!
Congratulations!

Time to get down to work!
Today you will be working on your Literacy and Addition skills. I have recorded a Mental Maths game for you to try, and if you would like to work on ICT there is a fun Seasons pin to check out in Purple Mash.  As it is DOODLE TUESDAY, you will be able to learn to draw some spider friends for Spinderella!

Have fun and keep smiling!

Literacy
Handwriting

Please review letter formation for lower case 'p' and 'q'- we see some errors in formation and reversals in these-please take this opportunity to build good habits.
The prompts we use in school are:

p - (pirate) Down the pirate’s plait, then up and round the pirate’s face

q - (queen) Round the queen’s head, up to her crown, down her hair and flick

Rule lines on one of the pages included in your home pack.
I would suggest alternating letter 'p' and letter 'q', emphasising correct starting point and position on the line for these lower case letters.
Try to keep the letters all the same height.
I've added an example to the right, with some of the most common mistakes we see in school noted at the bottom for your reference.

Please encourage your child to write their name on the work, and keep it safe to be returned to school.

Dictation /Lexia

I was very impressed by the pupil's efforts at dictation and am keen for them to continue.
This can be completed in pencil on the same page.

An adult reads out a sentence, then reads it again slowly as the pupils  'sound out' and write the words.
Finally, read the sentence back and gently correct errors together.

Spelling Group 1: Try to write
"A bad dog can yap.  A bad god can rip. A bad dog can dig!"

Spelling Group 2: Try to write
"The dig bit the bad cat" (sound out the words as slowly as is necessary)

Sounds Group:
Please use this as your online Lexia time.
Mrs Burns has reported that a number of pupils have already moved to a new level in Lexia! Great work!

Sight Words
Please complete 10-15 minutes written work in your 'Sight Words' booklet.

Numeracy
I have recorded a Mental Maths Challenge - 'The Gotcha Game' if you wish to use it :)

The second roll number tells you which eyes to draw.
The third roll tells you which mouth to draw.
The fourth roll tells you which arms to draw.
The fifth roll tells you which legs to draw.

Your child can have a go themselves, or add to the fun by taking it in turns to roll.

In school I like to show the pupils 'Google Maps'- we look at the school address (36 Hillsborough Road, Dromara) and some of our favourite places.  You could look up your home address. If you pick up the little 'Yellow man' in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and drop it on the map it will take you to 'street view': you can explore the village!

Included with the pack are a few little treats, a tub of playdough (to keep at home) and some craft materials for upcoming activities.  Thank you for your enthusiasm and input this week!
Literacy

This morning's Literacy activity is based on the story
Tell it again, Granda'. I have recorded a video of the story for you to listen to, or if you prefer, it can be read online.

Video here
Online Book here

Once you have listened to the story, talk about the characters you saw together.
Then make a chart with characters which are 'good' and characters which are 'not good'.
The pupils can 'sound out' the names or you can write the words for them to copy. (Keep it really lighthearted and fun- we are looking for understanding rather than spelling).

If you want, think about some other stories you know. You can add the characters to your chart if you wish!

This can be free play, or you they can make a marble maze/maze for their lego characters - roll 'sausages' of dough and place on a baking tray or box top.
I'd love to see any creations.

Have a great weekend!

Suggested activities: Thursday 14th January

Good morning gang!

Today it is Thursday the 14th of January which is 'National Dress Up Your Pet Day'! To celebrate, I thought you might like to see Hmph the hedgehog and Hope the rabbit dressed up in their fancy hats at Christmas time.
Don't they look cute!
Picture
Today you are going to complete a writing activity and work on your reading words, try a mental maths challenge and some number work, and then learn a fun dance (as Thursday is one of our PE days in school).
Keep smiling!
Miss Briggs

PS - Terrific writing, drawings and photos coming in this week! I have added them to our galleries below :)
Good Morning parents/guardians!
A quick reminder that new pupil packs (to cover 18th January - 29th January) are available to pick up from the school sports hall this Friday, 15th January.
The time slot for Year 2 Pupils (and older siblings) is 9:30 -10:15am.
Please can you return the pack you have been working on as a record of the first week of home learning- the booklets do not have to be complete!
Please keep the 'Shape' booklet at home as we will continue to use it :)

Here are my suggestions for Thursday 14th January.
As always, please just do what you can - focus on the Literacy and Numeracy in the first instance, try to read together each day, then have a go at the other suggested activities if you have time :)

Literacy
Dictation

In school the pupils would have been commencing 'Dictation' this week: an adult reads out a sentence, then reads it again slowly as the pupils  'sound out' and write the words. Finally, read the sentence back and gently correct errors together.
This is new so please take your time and praise all efforts :)

Spelling Group 1: Try to write
"A cat in a hat. A fat cat in a hat.  A fat cat in a red hat."

Spelling Group 2: Try to write
"A bad cat hid in the bed" (sound out the words as slowly as is necessary)

Sounds Group:
Call out the sounds- encourage your child to write them on a line with correct formation.
"g o s a t p i n"

Then
Please complete 15 - 20 minutes written work in your home pack "Phonics" booklet or "Sight Words" booklet.
Numeracy
Mental Maths

Today in mental maths the pupils will be thinking about 'Number before'.
I have recorded a little video which may help with this. You can find it here.

If you would like to complete an online activity to reinforce the concept of counting back, please revisit 'Blast off' -
this time, click ‘Play Game’, click ‘Count on & back’, click ‘Count back’ then select a suitable number range.
This is trickier so useful to have a number line to hand.

Written activity
Please complete 15 - 20 minutes written work in your home pack Number booklet.
I am happy to see you working hard on your Numeracy work using computers! Very grown up indeed!

Next - Get up and go!
Check out the Dinosaur Stomp (one of my absolute favourites!)
Try it twice to be sure you've got the moves!

Finally
If you wish and have time, your child can complete any remaining activities in Mini Mash 'Simple City'.

Suggested activities: Wednesday 13th January

Good Morning Year Two!

This morning I have been admiring your penguin drawing and colouring: I think you have become even better artists since I last saw you in school! You can check out some of the drawings below!

Picture
Today is Wednesday 13th of January which is
"Make your dreams come true day!”.
Today you will be thinking about your wishes for 2021!
You will also be thinking about ‘Shapes’ in your Numeracy work and talking about People Who Help Us in school.

When you have completed your work, I have recorded a story for you to listen to! I hope you like it.
Have a good day!
Miss Briggs

PS - My wishes are:
  1. We will be back in school soon!
  2. You will do your very best in all of your work and play.
  3. Everyone will be happy and healthy this year.

Good Morning parents/guardians!
Here are my suggestions for Wednesday 13th January.
As always, please just do what you can - focus on the Literacy and Numeracy in the first instance, try to read together each day, then have a go at the other suggested activities if you have time :)

Literacy
Writing activity

Help your child to have at writing their wishes for ‘Make your dreams come true” day.
They can try to ‘sound out’ one, two or three wishes for this year independently (remind them that any mistakes are proof that they are learning something new!) or if this proves too tricky, they can tell you ideas which you can write out for them to copy.
You can write this in a notebook, on a page or if you would like to use the template, click below to download to print.

Please keep this work safe in the folder and return it to school when picking up the new pack.
I genuinely love to see the pupils work so please feel free to take a quick picture and send to the office
😊

Please focus on ‘Shape’ work today.
If you would like an online activity, you can find a ‘Shape Pattern’ activity here which will allow the pupils to revise shape names and patterns.
Click 'Play Game' and complete the patterns.
Start with the first level and see how it goes!

Written activity
Please complete 15- 20 minutes of work in the ‘Shape’ Booklet in your home pack.
Please keep this work safe in the folder and return it to school when picking up the new pack.

If you have time:

Topic work
We are thinking about ‘People Who Help Us’.
Talk about the people who help in school – teachers, classroom assistants, caretaker, Secretary, dinner ladies, bus driver – how many can you think of and name?
This can just be a discussion or if you wish you can make a list together.

Finally
I have recorded a story for the pupils!
They might be able to join in with some of the repeating parts of the story
.
You can find it here - The Smartest Giant in Town

I love this photo of story time at home. You are all making amazing memories :)

Suggested   activities: Tuesday   12th January

Good Morning Team!

I have been enjoying looking at your photographs and art this morning (I've added them to the snowy gallery!)
You are super artists and I feel very proud of you all working hard and having family fun at home!

In school we like to learn to draw something new on a Tuesday and today you will be learning to draw a penguin using the number 10!

Before that, you have some writing and number work to complete so get those pencils sharpened and lets get started!

Miss Briggs
Picture
Good Morning parents/guardians!
Here are my suggestions for Tuesday 12th January.
As always, please just do what you can - focus on the Literacy and Numeracy in the first instance, try to read together each day, then have a go at the other suggested activities if you have time :)

Literacy
Handwriting

In Term one we have reinforced correct letter formation of all lower-case letters a-m.
We have about the best way to sit to complete neat handwriting – two feet flat on the floor, chair pulled in, one hand holding the page at a slight angle, the other holding the pencil or marker with correct grip.

Remember the starting point of each letter is important and quick recall of correct letter formation builds confidence and fluency. Please take time to revise these letters today, taking care to write on the line and add flicks.  You can access the ‘writing rhymes’ we use in school by clicking 'download file' to the right if required.
You can make this  activity more interesting by choosing some colours to create a pattern (see example) or writing on coloured paper.  You can rule lines as a guide.

Please keep this work safe in the folder and return it to school when picking up the new pack.

Optional activities

ICT
Remember our Topic ‘People Who Help Us’ is pinned on the MiniMash homescreen, you can continue to explore it – perhaps the ‘Doctors’ section today!

Get up and Go/PE skills
Please work on throwing and catching skills using a ball: again a big brother or sister/adult can join in to help.
How many throws and catches can you achieve without dropping. Can you throw and catch with one hand?
Try using a bigger or smaller ball.

Doodle Tuesday!
Follow the instructions to learn to draw a penguin starting with a number 10. We use this step-by-step approach in school and the pupils do such a great job. I’d love to see their creations!
Don’t forget to colour and add a chilly background :)

Suggested activities: Monday 11th January

Good Morning Year Two!
I hope everyone is well and that you all had time to do some fun activities with your family at the weekend!
It is always nice to hear your 'weekend news' on a Monday morning and this week I am so happy to be able to share some 'Snowy news' with you instead: look at these amazing drawings, craft and photographs! So 'COOL'!

I have recorded a little video message for you to listen to, you can find it here -CLICK FOR MONDAY MESSAGE

Please just do what you can - try to focus on the Literacy and Numeracy in the first instance and then the other activities if you have time :)

Literacy
Phonics

In school we would be revising all of the sounds learned to date in Year Two this week
(all initial sounds, double consonant “ss” “ff” “zz” and “ll” and “h” blends “ch”, “sh” “th”.
Please take time to revise these sounds (reading and writing) for quick recall.
I've recorded a video with the sounds for your reference, you can find it here - click for phonics video

Then, in your home pack you will find some phonics work which focuses either on CVC words or single sounds.  Please complete 15 – 20 minutes written  phonics work.

Please keep this work safe in the folder and return it to school when picking up the new pack.
Numeracy
Mental Maths - Counting in 2s

Today, please focus on counting forwards in 2s – first to 10, then 20…then beyond if you can. Remember to do odd and even versions – 2,4,6,8 / 1,3,5,7,9 etc.

If you would like to complete an online activity to reinforce this skill, duck shoot is good fun (sorry ducks!) Click the “2” to select counting in 2s, then count along to click the correct duck.

Get up and Go/PE skills
Please work on bouncing and catching skills using a ball. A big brother or sister/adult can join in or bounce the ball against a wall or the ground.
How many bounces and catches can you achieve without dropping?
Is it easier or trickier using a larger/smaller ball.

World Around Us/ICT
I have added the new topic ‘People Who Help Us’ to the Mini Mash desktop.
Please log in, click the ‘People Who Help Us’ Pin, scroll right to ‘Simple City’ and explore the ‘Vet’ section. The interactive pictures are very helpful in developing mouse skills.
That’s all for today!

Suggested  activities: Friday 8th January

Good Morning Year Two!
Wasn’t the just snow BEAUTIFUL yesterday!
I went for a walk round Hillsborough lake to feed the ducks and swans- they were very hungry!
I took this photo of the frozen lake and thought you might like to see it.
Picture
Did you play in the snow? If you got some photographs, I would love to see – an adult at home can email them to Mrs Watson in the office.
Today you are going to complete a writing activity, some mental maths and number work, and then as it is Friday (which is always our nicest day in school!) I am leaving you an art activity and a very fun ‘Get up and go’ to try.
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Briggs

Good Morning parents/guardians!
Here are my suggestions for Friday 8th January 2021

Literacy

In the home pack you will find a sheet entitled “All About Me”.
Read through the sheet together, discussing the answers, then

EITHER: (Recommended for group who complete daily sounds)
Fill in the answers on the side printed with the pictures.

OR (Recommended for group who complete daily spellings)
Rule lines on the reverse side of the page and support your child as they use the ideas from your discussion to write a short piece of writing about themselves. For example:
“My name is Miss Briggs.  My Birthday is 3rd October. My favourite colour is purple. My favourite book is Matilda”.
Please can you keep this piece of work safe in the folder and return it to school when picking up the new pack? Thank you.

Numeracy
Mental Maths

Today, try to count forwards from different starting points.
You can make this as easy or tricky as you need to be by selecting higher of lower starting numbers.
If confident in counting beyond 20, remember to challenge your child to count “Across the decuples (29, 30,31/  39/40/41).
“Count forwards from….”
“Start counting forwards at number ….”
“Can you count from number ___ to number __”

Written work
Please complete some of the activities in the addition booklet in your home pack- aim for 15/20 minutes of Numeracy in total.

‘Get up and Go’
Encourage your child to ‘get moving’ with this lively task - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTQrR1UIBRY

Art/Craft
EITHER
Draw a snowy day picture!

OR
Have a go at this snowman cut and stick craft.

I’d love to see completed masterpieces – you can email any pictures to Mrs Watson at the school office.
Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Year Two!
(I am pretty sure I heard your cheerful voices reply ‘Good Morning Miss Briggs’!)

While you are staying safe and learning at home for the next little while I am going to try my very best to make sure that you are happy and are learning lots!

Each day I will post some activities you can complete at home.  There will be a little message that an adult can help you to read, perhaps some videos and games for you to play too, so try to check in each weekday.

Please try to work hard at home (like you always do in school!) I am really looking forward to seeing what you have learned when we are all together again.
Keep smiling,
Miss Briggs
Picture
Good Morning parents/guardians!

I am thinking about you this morning as we begin our period of remote learning!
I will do my best to guide you with suggestions for activities to keep our amazing pupils engaged and learning.  I understand that everyone’s home situation is different- do your best, keep breathing, we’ve got this!

Today, tomorrow, and next week we will be completing some revision activities to get ‘into the swing’ of remote learning and to consolidate what the pupils know.
You will be using the ‘Home Pack’ you received last term for now: at the end of next week, you will be able to visit school to pick up a new pack based what the pupils will be learning next term - I will post details of date and time when I know.

I will be posting here each day so please check in – I suggest each day you try to:
-Complete the suggested Literacy and Numeracy activities
-Review spellings/sounds and numbers/number facts which will be in your pack next week
-Read together (I will be suggesting some materials next week)
-Get up and go/get outside– for your own health (and sanity!)

I've added a little post with some home schooling hints and tips at the bottom of the post for you to read at your leisure.
Thank you!
Miss Briggs

Literacy: Talking and Listening
Talk about the Christmas holidays together – this is called ‘recount’.
Look at the picture together and use it as a prompt for discussion.

Either – download and print the page above and draw or write memories on it.
OR – draw or write your memories on a separate sheet of paper.

Numeracy
‘Warm up’ by counting forwards.
  • Start at zero and see how far your child can count
  • Alternate numbers counting forwards – an adult says one number, child says the next
  • Count loudly/quietly – can the adult be a ‘conductor’ using hand signals to indicate volume? Switch places!
Numeracy Written activity –
Look in your ‘Home Pack’.  You will find a booklet of number work for this week and next.
I recommend completing 2/3 pages per session.
Check the work together, don’t forget to praise the efforts!
Picture

‘Get up and Go’
Have a go at this amazing dance!
I recommend two (or more attempts!) to ensure you’ve got the moves!

ICT
If you have time -
Log in to Purple Mash (your log in was included with your pack) - www.purplemash.com/sch/dromara
I have ‘pinned’ a new topic at the top right hand corner of the home page for your child to explore this week.
Perhaps they could scroll to find and complete a ‘paint’ project to show me how they are feeling today?
They can type a message at the bottom of the project.

Give yourself a big pat on the back: day one complete!

Home learning   help -

Picture
A few suggestions:

Hit the ground running!
Try not to put off starting! Set up a quiet, distraction free area to complete home learning activities and have the materials you need to hand- pencils, rubbers, booklets etc. Please let the school know if you do not have access to resources you need for home learning so we can help.

Set some ground rules and expectations with your child - remain flexible but remember that you are the boss!

How long should I home school for/when should I complete home learning each day?

I will suggest a range of activities to complete each day -aim to complete a minimum of one Literacy and Numeracy activity each day, some reading together,  spellings/sounds and number facts/numbers.

In school we complete more academic tasks early in the day when the pupils are ‘fresh’ then more relaxed, creative activities later on but you know your child and home situation best so find what works for you.
Not every day will be the same - some days, you might have your own work to do at certain times and need your child to be focused and learning at the same time.

What do I do if its not working?
-If your child is reluctant to complete activities try the ‘first…then’ approach – for example “First we will do our work, THEN you can choose a board game for us to play” or “which activity would you like to do first? THEN which activity will you do?”.
-Try shorter bursts of activities, or alternating preferred tasks.
-You know your child best – are they hungry? Thirsty? Tired? What motivates or excites them?
-If tasks are too challenging, please feel free to adapt as necessary.

Please remember –
We live in strange times!
Try not to feel overwhelmed: do what you can then curl up on the sofa with a book together.
Tomorrow is always a new day: the most important thing is that you and your child are happy and healthy.
I am here to help if needed: please email the office, the message will be passed on to me and I will resolve your query as soon as possible.

21 December 2020- Term one: We made it!

Such a busy term of work and play. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and made some amazing memories - sitting with a cup of tea (and a biscuit, of course) it is lovely to reflect on how far the pupils have come already!
From the early days getting used to our new routines and getting to know each other, through the BIG HIGHLIGHTS, like the sponsored walk, Hallowe'en party and festive Fridays and all the daily successes such as trying out spellings and the 'lightbulb moments' in Practical Numeracy there is so much to celebrate. Give yourselves a big pat on the back!
Thank you Mums, Dads and everyone else who gets our little people to school with those lovely smiles each morning: the world is topsy-turvy at the moment and we appreciate everything you do.
Picture
Here is your super serious HO HO HOmework!

- Come back to school happy, healthy and ready to learn.

See you soon!
Miss Briggs

Festive Friday  Three!

For our third and final 'Festive Friday' the pupils were able to wear their favourite Christmas jumpers and accessories!
Everyone looked very Christmassy and cosy, and we had a wonderful day of completing our Christmas craft projects and Christmas themed Literacy, Numeracy and play tasks.
We also got to see our amazing dance video - watch this space as this will be available for you to see soon.
Thank you as always for supporting us and ensuring our terrific pupils are able to make lovely Christmas memories together :)
(Apologies to anyone is missing from the photos - we were having so much fun that we didn't snap them until the last minute and a few pupils had spotted parents and disappeared in excitement with their 'Santa Spotters')
Picture

Festive Friday Two!

For our second Festive Friday we had an amazing 'crafternoon'!  With our Santa hats and antlers on, we enjoyed making a choice of crafts - some pupils were having so much fun they wanted to try every choice.  Our classroom was a whirlwind of glitter and giggles as we created giant Christmas baubles, snowy hedgehogs, Rockin' Santa Cards, Festive paintings and Snowman decorations for the tree at home.  Things may be a little unusual in the world at the moment but the Christmas magic is truly still alive in Dromara Primary School.

Our First Festive Friday!

Friday the 4th of December was a special day for our school: our very first Festive Friday: the Games Room!
Mrs Milligan, Mr Armstrong and their elves had been hard at work setting up games for everyone to enjoy, and we were so excited to see what was in store for us: we were certainly not disappointed.
We had such a fun morning of games together in the hall and there were lots of sweets for the winners of each challenge. Thanks to all the Mums and Dads for supporting our fundraising efforts: two more Festive Fridays to look forward to!

Virtual Opening Evening:   Check out these stars!

This year our school was unable to have our normal Open Evening, so we were able to participate in the filming of a very special 'Virtual Open Evening'.  We completed our Practical Numeracy session on camera - here are some of the highlights!
I am very proud of you - movie stars!

Literacy and Numeracy

We have been working hard on our Literacy skills.

In Literacy we have been emphasising correct letter formation of all lower case letters.  Keep thinking carefully about the size of each letter: some are taller than others, and some descend below the line: remember, practice makes progress.

We have been continuing to work on our speedy recall of the initial sounds and through weekly reading challenges have been able to blend these to ‘speed read’ – keep up the great work.
We have been thinking about ‘double consonant blends’ – ff, ll, ss, and zz, and the ‘h’ blends – ‘sh’, ‘th’ and ‘ch’.

There are lots of resources online that will help your child to build skills in using these sounds – some examples below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0VL4Vn97n0 – Geraldine Giraffe double letters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-0TUXSakTk – Alphablocks double letter sounds

https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/forestPhonics/index.html - Absolutely excellent: click on the sounds we have been focusing on.

In Numeracy we have been working hard on our addition and subtraction, focusing on ‘quick recall’ of number bonds and ‘number stories’ within ten.
Counting on fingers and using number lines are both important strategies as the pupils start out with addition and subtraction, but it is important that number bonds are learned  - keep up the good work at home.

These games are always popular and are very helpful –
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10 (select the skill you want to work on)
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button (used throughout the school – a firm favourite – select the skill you want to work on)

Art  Attack!

As we move in to Winter, there are more wet break and lunch times when we are unable to go outside to play.
We have been using this time to work on our drawing skills; there are some absolutely fantastic artists in our class.
Check out our 'Cute Animal' drawings below.
Picture
Everyone has come  back to school energised from the break and excited to get back to our work and play!
First of all: a few end of term highlights!

Our Spooky Bubble Halloween party was a real success: big congratulations to our lucky Hamper winners and thank you so much to everyone who provided the treats or bought raffle tickets (everyone got a sweet treat of course: no tricks here!)

Owl Babies

Story time is one of our happiest times in class!
This week we have been thinking about 'The Owl Babies'.
We listened to the story, acted it out using the beautiful owl puppets (great acting, Year Two!) and then made our very own Owl Babies stick puppets.  We have been writing reports about Owls too; I think they will make a lovely display in our resource area - I will share a picture when it is complete.
Look at the focus and concentration as our clever pupils listen and retell the story!
If you would like to hear the story at home, you can find it here - www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/storybooks-and-games/owl-babies/ or here - www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/radio/story-time-owl-babies

A few fun games!

We have been reading and writing lots of CVC words using short middle vowel sounds.
This a fun game which will help you to build your skills - www.literactive.com/Download/live.asp?swf=story_files/hanging_monkeys_US.swf

We have been thinking about double consonant blends too - Tricky!
This video is very useful (as are all of Mr Thorne's videos!)- www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0VL4Vn97n0

September flew by in a flurry of new books, learning and excitement!
The Year Two pupils have settled very well to their new routines and we are very proud of their positive attitudes to work and play (and their amazing sense of fun!)

We have been working hard to build our skills in Literacy and Numeracy.

In Literacy we have been emphasising correct letter formation, sizing and orientation and we have revised all of the initial phonic sounds. We are working on reading, writing and spelling CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words.  There are lots of resources online which can help to build skills in this area, here are some examples:

Games
https://www.starfall.com/h/word-machines/ (word machines)

In Numeracy we have been doing lots of counting forwards and backwards and working on our addition and subtraction. We have revised correct number formation and the use of the add, take away and equals signs.
This is a fantastic game that we will be using throughout the year - have a go at the 'one more' or 'one less' sections on the addition and subtraction carriages.

Sponsored Walk

Our October highlights so far has definitely been the Sponsored Walk!
We were treated to a bright, sunny Autumn day- and some juice and biscuits from Mr Armstrong!
Big smiles all round as the pupils walked, jogged, jumped and danced their way round the walk.
We missed seeing all the Mums and Dads but made this little video so you can join in with our fun!

Practical Numeracy

This week we have been thinking about patterns using one criteria or more, making colourful shape pictures, working on our computer skills, money skills, and measuring skills! It has been busy but as always the pupils have worked hard, played together well and have lots of new knowledge to build on. Well done everyone!

Ssssssscience Time

In Year Two we love finding out new things by asking questions, observing and experimenting: so naturally, one of our favourite things to do is Science! This week we made special Science snakes, using our best cutting skills, magnets and paperclips. Some of them were very friendly fellows, and some were rather venomous!

Ready, Set, Alphabet!

We have been working hard to reinforce letter names, sounds and formation - and there are so many ways to have fun while doing this.   Using chalk, giant pencils, and a set of very funky alphabet challenges, we have been building skills to help us with more formal work later in the year. Lots of smiles, lots of learning!

Our colourful classroom!

This week we started the task of making the classroom our own by decorating it with our pictures and best writing work!
I have been so proud of the Year Two pupils as they have really focused and tried their best, producing really lovely display work that many adults within the school have stopped to admire. Keep it up, gang!

Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?

On Friday afternoons we like to get the class together to round off the week with a poem or a game.
This week we played 'Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar'.
The Year Two's were shocked to find out the cookies were missing!
But soon they were able to become detectives and to play the game together.
Lots of happy faces, excellent talking and listening and even some mini cookies!
Well done everyone.

We're Wild  About Animals!

Our first topic in Year Two is 'Wild About Animals'. We will be finding out about farm animals, wild animals and pets.
The Year Two pupils know that one of the best ways to find out information is by using non-fiction books: this week they were looking at our new Topic Books together.   We have been painting pictures of the animals we are finding out about, and there are some great art skills on display already! We look forward to diving in to this topic to learn even more!

Getting to know you!

It has been a true delight to welcome the lovely  new Year Two pupils what a cheerful, enthusiastic bunch!

In this first week in school we have been focusing on activities which have enabled the pupils to feel safe, happy and ready to learn- it was very exciting to see our new play area, meet the new classroom assistants and catch up with all the Summer and lock down chat!  One of our favourite activities so far has been getting out in the sunshine to enjoy 'The Daily Mile' together: lots of chances to walk, talk, and enjoy being back together!
The pupils have been very grown up, confident and indpendent in completing their first Year Two Talking and Listening activities too! Lots of treasure for us to explore, and very good questions asked and answered!
I feel very proud of the pupils and hope you do too!
