Continuing the Hallowe'en theme we celebrated an early finish for half term with our hamper draw to raise money for school funds and we had 5 lucky winners. One won twice but shared her second bag with the rest of the class, how kind to share the sugar rush. We then had our usual golden time out in the sunshine followed by a mega sugar eating marathon, sorry parents if we return home a little bit hyper.
With only 2 weeks to go before Hallowe'en we have created some fantastic clay pumpkins all ready to be fired, be afraid, very afraid, look at those faces.
We have now completed our Picasso faces in clay, they have been created, fired and painted and we are now ready to show them off. Here are the results so far (more to come).
Welcome to all the pupils and parents of year 7. We are now nearly 2 weeks in to the autumn term and learning new ways of doing things both with work and routines in school. We have been working mainly on literacy and numeracy but everyone needs a break from that at least once a week; so here are some photos of us making a start on Andy Warhol type cartoon repeats. The finished masterpieces will be photographed and posted soon.
Picasso in pastel
We have been recreating faces in the style of Picasso a famous Spanish artist and here are the results.
Andy Warhol inspired cartoon images
A couple of weeks ago we posted photos of ourselves at the first stages of our Andy Warhol repeat cartoons. We learnt how to draw the cartoon accurately then trace it, found out how to transfer the traced image to paper and finally use a rotation of 5 colours to imitate the process Andy Warhol used. Here are the brilliant results. Why not look up the real images on the internet and see if ours as as good as his.
Sponsored walk October 2020
On a beautiful sunny afternoon we did our annual sponsored walk round the loop. We set ourselves the target of 280 laps between 27 of us plus Mrs Collins. Well we not only did it we surpassed it. We managed 343 laps at 400m a lap sooooooooo, we reckon that would be 114 km. Here is the evidence in photos.
